We get questions about our videos and here are some of the most frequent.
If you have a question that is not here, please send a message to info@brazilvid.com and we will send you
a prompt reply.
| Q- Do you update you Carnaval video yearly? |
A- |
Yes. For the tapes that relate to the carnaval parade we have Carnaval '96
and Carnaval '97 and Carnaval '98. Our other tapes will not go out of date. |
| Q- Is there a background description
of what we are seeing on the video? |
A- |
Based on their content, some of our videos lend themselves more to descriptions
than others. For example, in Hot Nights in Rio and Erotic Nights in Rio
there is little narration as the tapes speak for themselves. However, in
Carnaval '97 there is detailed description and explanation of the parade,
the samba schools and the judging. |
| Q- Is the narration in English
or Portuguese? |
A- |
English. |
| Q- Who shoots the footage, Americans
or Brazilians? |
A- |
We have a highly trained technical staff of Americans who shoot the video
footage. We love Brazil and have been going to carnaval there for the past
eleven years, so by now we have a very good understanding of the essence
of the carnaval. |
| Q- How do you gain access to
film your videos? |
A- |
For some events we obtain permission of the hosting body, or credentials,
as necessary. For other public events no special permit is required. |
| Q- Is it possible to get the
videos in formats for viewing outside the United States? |
A- |
Yes. Although tapes are normally shipped in the NTSC (American) format,
there is space on our order form to request other formats, such as PAL,
SECAM, etc. |
| Q- There are lots of second
and third rate videos put out by amateurs about the Brazilian carnaval.
How do I know that your videos won't be more of the same? |
A- |
You can get an idea of the videos by checking out the clips on each video
in these web pages. To help us in maintaining and improving the quality
of our product we regularly send complimentary copies of our carnaval videos
to Brazilian Consulates and Cultural Institutes in the United States. This
is a source of very useful feedback for us. |
